It is well known that people have different learning styles, and that the use of music, poetry, and video clips can make it easier to open discussion with program participants about various issues.
This training is designed to expand participant’s familiarity with various forms of media and how to use them. Music, video, poetry, and stories will be shared. Discussion will be facilitated that includes ideas on how to incorporate these tools into current programming to enrich professionals understanding.
Individuals are encouraged to bring media tools to share!
Participants with ideas are asked to submit the following information during the registration process:
1. brief description of the tool, including time duration and messages conveyed;
2. type of medium and/or equipment needed;
3. and approximate time needed to present.
If selected, you would need to help facilitate discussion about your contribution.

The day’s interactive format will allow us to share ideas, think creatively about utilizing new interventions, discuss challenging issues, evaluate current efforts, and improve the work we do with batterers as we work on achieving perpetrator accountability and victim safety.
BISC-MI will provide six BIPSCC continuing education credits offered at no additional charge. Because of the unique format of this event, no specific MCBAP or social work credits are available.
